The 1967 Sandeman Vintage Porto is slightly deeper in color than the 1966. It has a light resinous bouquet with hints of degraded red berry fruit and tertiary notes, a pinch of clove and Chinese five-spice emerging with time. However, it is languid and is missing the vigor the 1963. The palate is nicely balanced with a fine thread of acidity. There are plenty of spicy red fruits here as well as scents of orange peel, cardamom and white pepper, with a pleasant and (considering the vintage) unexpected build on the finish. Could this actually be better than the 1966? Drink now-2025.
