The 1980 Sandeman Vintage Porto has a light, leather and star anis-scented bouquet that is detailed, although it lacks real vigor, and never really convinces like its peers. The palate is well-balanced with a strong licorice and mint-infused entry. Even though it lacks real complexity and nuance on the finish, there are plenty of guts and body to this port, although it would not stack up against the best of this vintage. Drink now-2025.
