The 1998 Chianti Classico exhibits a dark ruby color, and a fragrant, foresty, mushroom-scented nose with smoke and cherries in the background. In the mouth there are scorched earth characteristics as well as medium body, sweet fruit, and a soft finish. Drink it over the next 5-8 years.
