This wine's amber/orange color reflects its age of nearly 40 years. The big, spicy, cinnamon, mushroomy nose has more in common with an ancient, frail Pinot Noir than a Cabernet Sauvignon. There is plenty of sweet, sugary fruit, as well as a stale, damp cardboard component. While the wine retains enough intriguing aspects to make it interesting, it is in full decline, with one foot already in the grave.
