Deep ruby-colored, with a pronounced black-cherry, spicy, vanillin nose, this tasty, round, elegant yet chewy wine was produced with more Grenache in the blend than usual. Brusset felt the Mourvedre was too vegetal to use in the 1993. This is undoubtedly one of the most successful wines in what was a difficult vintage for Gigondas. Anticipated maturity: now-2003. Last tasted 6/96.
