Brusset's 1997 is a textbook Gigondas for him - oaky, with huge, jammy aromas of blackberries, cassis, and pain grille. A highly-extracted, formidably-endowed Gigondas made in an international style, it should be a stunning wine. Additionally, it should drink well young given its low acidity and plump, forward fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2010.
